Largest Education Library in Singapore
Shaped like a giant horse shoe, conveniently located atop the canteen, NIE Library boasts of more than half a million volumes and titles (both print and electronic), 52,000 journal titles (print and electronic) as well as more than 50,000 audio-visual materials. It is the largest education library in Singapore.
NIE library specialises in collecting books, e-books, journals, videos and other materials on education.
This includes publications on: teacher education, pedagogy, educational research, educational policy and administration.
Other niche collections include:
Resources on Singapore Education: Features books and theses on education in Singapore, history of Singapore education, educational system, policies and examination syllabuses.
Materials on National Education (NE): This includes videos on National Education that are produced by the National Education Branch.
NIE Authors: Books, book chapters, and reports that are written by NIE staff and lecturers can also be found in NIE Library. To browse all the titles written by NIE authors, simply type ‘NIE author ‘ (use single quotation marks to denote a phrase) in the Library catalogue and you will retrieve 4,400 titles.
So, while it’s good to know where the library is, it’s even better to know what the library has!
