Borrowing Books with NTU Pass

With the implementation of the NTU Pass in NIE campus, users can now use it to borrow items at the Library self-check out stations and collect reserved items from the self-service lockers.

How It Works

Self-check out stations

  2. Tap on the “Digital Key”.

  3. Hold your phone near the card reader.

  4. Place your books one at a time on the V-shaped trough to borrow them.

Self-collection locker (a.k.a Smart Locker)

  1. Open your NTU Pass app.

  2. Tap on the “Digital Key”.

  3. Hold your phone near the card reader.

  4. Tap on the corresponding locker door on the screen to collect your reserved books.

Note:

Self-collection lockers for reserved items are located at Blk 4, Level 1, Lift Lobby

POD Access, Simplified

We’ve also streamlined POD bookings. You now only need to show three NTU Passes used for a booking to collect a POD access card—no more exchanging matric cards. Getting into your study space is now quicker and hassle-free.

Fresh Seats for Fresh Ideas

We heard you: frequent library users will be glad to know the well-worn chairs on Level 4 have been replaced and watch out for more to come!

Recharge with the Nap Pod

Need a quick reset between lectures or after long study sessions? Have a snooze in a Nap Pod!

Located on Level 3 in the Library, the Nap Pod is available for a 3-month trial until November 2025 as part of the NIE75 Innovations Project Scheme undertaken jointly by IN-Learning and NIE Library.

Booking is simple: watch the short how-to video, scan the QR code near the Pod (or use the link), reserve a slot, check in, nap, and check out. Before leaving, complete a survey when checking out.
