As part of NIE's virtual National Day celebrations this year, Writers@NIE (organised by ELL AG and NIE Library) and the National Education Committee held the Literary MRT Map of Singapore Competition. Avid readers of Singapore literature were invited to identify novels, short stories, poems and plays set in Singapore and locate them on the stations of Singapore’s MRT map.
You can view the entries on the Literary Map of Singapore here.
Participants could submit their entries via an online form. Each submission counted as an entry into a raffle, where winners would be drawn at random. This was to encourage participants to read and engage with Singapore literature as they could submit more entries to increase their chances of winning a prize. The draw was held on 1 September 2020 where three prizes were won by NIE staff and students.
We would like to congratulate all three winners and we hope that all who participated learnt something new about Singapore literature!
